John Arne Riise

I received my two shirts back from a private signing with John Arne Riise today.

He becomes the 16th and possibly last signing on my 2005 shirt. It is now signed by all 14 players who played that night, plus Rafa and sub keeper Carson. There are three squad players who didn't play missing. Whilst the temptation is there to add them, the sponsor logo is getting more damaged each time I send it out (this shirt is notorious for the logo cracking), so I'm thinking it might be time to retire it.

That's a really special signed shirt, Greg. You must be pleased with it.

I don't blame you for being cautious. It would be a shame to spoil it.

You could always find the extra players sigs and keep them together with the shirt so the full collection is still there. Won't be quite the same, but it'll sort of be the full set 🙂 Maybe get hold of a program from the game they could sign? It would make a fab autograph bundle.

Thanks Sabe (sorry, I don't know your name), thats not a bad shout

I have the programme so could just add the 3 squad players to that.  I'm too concerned about not having them on my shirt as they didn't actually play but the completist in me is saying otherwise, lol

(I'm Sarah, but I'll answer to Sabe. eBay autogenerated the name when I signed up and I never got around to changing it.)

Haha, I know the feeling. When you've started something you love you have to finish it as you expected to.

Too much stuff 😅

I'm hoping to sell off some of my surplus soon. I have a lot of Masonic items, vintage toys/dolls house bits and very specific historical things that help me out with research projects. I've also collected a fair few vintage pieces over the years that could do with refurbs so I'm going to try my hand at restoration as my next hobby.
