Stick with the Rich Text editor, it makes things simple.
Look for the tree icon (when you hover over it it says - Insert/edit image. Next to it is one for adding videos.
When you click it, you will see the panel below -
1. Choose the image -
2. Optionally give the image a title.
3. Optionally click private if you want to hide it from display. Need to think about when to do this.
4. Choose the image size you want to use.
5. Choose the image alignment. Inline means exactly that - wherever you are and you can type next to it.
6. Then click the Insert Image button. Your image will now be visible in the post. You can repeat this over and over until you have added your images.
7. Finally click the Post button to submit all your images in one post.

Sounds like Adobe Flash Player is not installing correctly. Which browser are you using? I use Firefox and it works like a dream. Works well in Google Chrome also. I rarely touch Internet Explorer.
If you know html, you can optionally point to an image on the web using html code via the HTML tab.

Testing with IE.
Works in the same way as Firefox and Chrome.
This was tested with IE10. if using an older version you may want to update.
If still not working, I would suggest updating the Flash plugin or checking you have javascript switched on, etc.

Hi Nigel, i can add images in the way you say to, but i can't add video from my lap top. It tells me to go to youtube. Video ain't on you tube it's on laptop. Do you know if it's possible to add video to a post via my laptop??

Paul - looks like the video link is limited to youtube only, possibly other web based videos. I do not have any video content outside of youtube.
I tried using attachments to attach an mp4 file, but they have restricted the types of file allowed, and it would not allow it.
