CLOSING MY EBAY ACCOUNT FOR GOOD!!

After 10 yrs of actively buying on Ebay for our overseas customers, we are now going to close all orders and our account with Ebay.

We have spent thousands and thousands of pounds on many items including loads of carparts. There are some very good sellers, genuine and honest on Ebay but there are also some very rubbish sellers as well.

Furthermore, we are fed up with tracking that shows the items have been delivered and simply put, they havent!!

A few days ago, YODEL only delivered 1 of 2 packages and the driver even noted he could not find the other package and that he would look at the depot or van and return - he never did!! - So why does both packages show as delivered??

The very same thing happened just a few weeks ago - We gave Ebay all the information which they refused to believe as the tracking was showing both items had been delivered. This was not the case -

We then handed it over to Paypal, they too came back and said that the merchants tracking was showing as delivered. Case closed!

Another £8.99 lost to a rubish seller and tracking System.

And again tonight, due to Yodels incompetent driver who only delivered 1 of 2 packages but yet entered them as both delivered, we will now lose another £18.99 - Enough is Enough!

We will now close our account and finally be done with all this dishonesty that goes on with Ebay and the terrible tracking system.

Im not sure of the account closure, never thought it would come to this, but am certianly prepared to close account once and for all..!!

I just posted about this very issue myself.

Two instances in the last 2 weeks of items in which the tracking notes said my parcel had been delivered, but they had not been.

There is something a bit funny going on here, I followed all the "tips", check with neighbours, look in places it might have been left and so on, and nothing.

The first of these was in fact delivered, .....24 hours after it allegedly had been.

The second is now 3-4 days late, again after it had been "delivered"

I can,t say I blame you, and if this contiunes only a twit would keep on buying.from here.

Both of your issues are not ebay's fault, it is carriers who fail to deliver or leave items in bin, porch Etc.
This is an ongoing problem with carriers where ever you buy from,
ebay will support seller if tracking proves delivered, no point in having it if no one believes it.
Check CAB website for help with how to deal with this issue.

Many thanks - and yes, i am actually relived that i have now come to this decision to close my account. Not putting up with this dishonest nonsense any longer. Shame on Ebay!!

Thanks Tobias - and I get what you are saying - But overall, we are just to busy to keep on going back and forth to Ebay and this is becoming more and more frequent. We order from lot of UK companies and we are never treated like this when there is an issue with an item not arriving.

Ebay should take a leaf out of Amazons book. When there is an issue like this with Amazon, you call them up, explain what has happened and almost right away you are refunded.

There is a lot more that i can say right now, but again, its a timing issue and I'd rather be done with Ebay than go through all this stress and frustration that only them and their carriers seem to cause.

Hi Olichris - this has been going on for years now - I have been with Ebay nearly 11 yrs and you and I are not the first ones to complain and comment on this and we certainly wont be the last. We have about 250 overseas customers that we order tons of parts and items for on Ebay and then airfreight them overseas to our costumers. So this will be sadly missed, but we will find other alternatives. Its not the end of the world.

We are not prepared to give Ebay or some of their rubbish dishonest scoundrels' another penny!

I certainly rest my case as I am happy to have finally come to this decision.

Quit Ebay for good!!

You can't compare Amazon & ebay,
Amazon has it's own delivery service, ebay is a platform for sellers to advertise on, seller chooses carrier.
I agree so called non deliveries are a problem, which is only going to get worse with more people ordering online.
I still prefer Royal Mail, I know my postie & can always go to local sorting office to complain.

While this is all very annoying, put yourself in the place of the seller,who uses travking as the only protection that a seller has.

If tracking shows as delivered the seller has done his job and if it could be overturned because of incompetent Couriers and Drivers the whole point of tracking would be defeated, and every buyer could claim not received to get a refund.

The whole system would then collapse as no sellers would want to sell in a system that made them refund to everyone who chose to make a claim.

I think that complaints should be made to Trading Standards about the Standard of Service provided by many Couriers as they are the ones at fault, and even when they admit they are responsible I doubt any pay any compensation.

2 weeks ago i bought an item offering next day delivery for around £150 all in.

It was to be delivered by DPD

I went on to their online tracking and statrted to follow the parcel.

I was advised that parcel was to be delivered betweem 11.30 am and 12.30 am so at 11.15 am i sat by the window,one eye on my very quiet street and the other on tv and laptop.

At about midday i heard something pull up outside with a diesel engine and looked outside.It was a white mercedes DPD van.

It was rainnig mildly and i watched the driver get out,go to the back of the van and come out with a parcel which had the dimensions of my purchase.

Driver took parcel next door to number 20 ( i am at 22) and i heard him knock door.No reply so he knocked again.

I knew my neighbour was out so i went out to ask him if i could take it in.

Driver was happy and brought parcel over.

I looked at the address and it was MY parcel.

I then asked what address he was trying to deliver to and he says "number 20".

When i showed him the address label with 22 on it he said "oh,i always work off my PDA" and then he showed me the screen and sure enough it stated number 20 !.

Not surprising stuff goes missing i guess.

Ok, it seems like there is a real issue here.

Perhaps its time for ebay to have a good look at this tracking thing and tighten it up.

Via putting pressure on these carriers

I think there are several issues with this.
As said not just ebay.
People are ordering more items online, but not always at home to accept delivery.
Most drivers are self employed, so only get paid when they actually deliver, so tend to leave parcels.
Due to covid, signatures are not being given.

This is an issue that wont go away especially as some drivers are very very good and some are just lazy as hell...! I am home 24/7 as we run an ordering service for St Helena, Ascension Island and Falklands - So drivers have no excuse - Just knock the front door and we will answer - We do live on a busy street as well but still no excuse for the lazy drivers not to do their jobs properly. I can really tell you some horror stories regarding delivery drivers and the nonsense they get up too. Even Royal Mail cant be 100% trusted as they too will leave a lot of packages at our home for other people who live streets away from us - its like "Does anyone care anymore!."
