Paypal fraud through eBAY

On February 11 I sold an Amazon evoucher worth £25 to an ebay member who later proved to be a fraudster as he purchased the item from me, made an "unauthorised transaction" claim and Paypal naively believed the buyer.

Because I could not appeal the decision, I have made a complaint (I doubt it will solve the issue but I gave it a go nonetheless).

Because this con buyer didn't open the case on eBay, the latter is very unlikely to do anything either.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like that?

Any advice?

i`ve never had it happen to me, but i`ve been on these boards long enough to know what goes on and i`m afraid it`s one of the risks of selling on here i`m afraid.

if you have the details of the voucher, it may be worth contacting Amazon and see if they can cancel it before it`s used, you never know 🙂

other than that, i`m afraid there`s not alot you can do really.

They were not able to cancel the evoucher but Amazon made an exception and refunded the value of the evoucher to my Amazon account. It's unfortunate that among so many good ebay members there are some who are shady and dishonest vipers

it is a shame about the minority who spoil it for others, but i`m glad Amazon helped you, so it was worth contacting them 🙂
