New Managed Payments

I am struggling to get my head round the new system. As I understand it, when I sell an item the money gets eventually sent to my bank a/c and not to Paypal. Do Ebay notify sellers when the money has been transered with details or do we need to continually check our bank a/c to check?

When it comes to buying, can I still pay by Paypal and , if so, how does seller access their money?

What choices do buyers have regarding choice of payment?

If they are still able to pay by Paypal, does the money go there or do Ebay intercept it?

As you can tell I am totally confused so as a seller and buyer I would be grateful if someone could please explain it to me?

As a seller, everything you need to know about Managed Payments is in the Seller Centre. The link is in your account, and there's also one at the foot of any page.

As a buyer, it makes no difference to you. You can pay by whatever means you choose, including PayPal. If by PayPal, it will simply go to Ebay's PayPal account rather than the seller's.

Only Business Sellers are being transferred at the moment, Private Sellers are due to be transferred next year.

Until in the system it is very difficult to get details, but looking at sellers who are in the system, they still offer payment by Paypal plus Cards and some methods I would prefer not to know about. However these other methods can only be used with an App so I don't think I will ever need to worry about them.

As far as using Paypal is concerned money received will not go there but goes to Bank account. There is nothing to stop a member transferring funds back into Paypal.

What I am not able to see is Fees, how much they are and exactly how it works. Whether Paypal will be charging for making payments as they will not be getting income from Ebay sales.

As I said unless you have another Business account, you are a Private seller and you are not affected at he moment. No doubt we will be given details in due course.

There have been questions from Business Sellers and I try to pick up information from them.

You can enter Managed Payments in HELP & CONTACT and read what information is available.

Thank you. I am a private seller so I am wondering why I was sent this. I have signed up to it as I thought it applied to everyone. I think I will now try and undo it and go back to the old system.

I have been told by another Community member that it doesn't apply to private sellers until next year. I have already read Managed Payments in the Seller Centre which prompted my post as it didn't explain the details.

Having been mislead into opting into Managed Payments does anyone know how I can opt out back to the previous system. I can't find anywhere to let me do this?

I clicked on Thirs Party Authorisations something that said @lithium' etc. hoping that would cancel Managed Payments. It has now disappeared from the list. I am now thinking that maybe I have made another error and now I won't get paid at all. This is a shambles.

i cannot even register, i have been trying all day all i keep getting is error when the link takes me to my bank and it needs my customer number but i have not got a clue what this is, and there is NO HELP from ebay on the link they sent me to do the change
