The feedback system on ebay is very bad and penalizing sellers.
Every month I have more than 100 feedbacks that my buyers don't send.
Did I send feedback to my buyers and what do I get in return? nothing.
Many of the buyers are direct competitors and resellers, so many are not interested in sending feedback, so that it is not known from whom they buy the items.
I suggested that ebay change the system and go to the example of what happens on "vinted.com".
When Vinted verifies that the item was delivered to the buyer, he has about 3-5 days to send feedback, if he does not, vinted sends positive automatic feedback to the seller, it was the fairest for allowing us sellers get more feedbacks.
What is your opinion?

Not heard of Vinted.com but don't fret over the lack of Feedback. I have always thought that No Feedback is better than Negative Feedback.

This is not Vinted it is Ebay.

On Ebay feedback is voluntary and a seller should never chase feedback.

As a seller i never leave feedback first as i do not consider a sale as completed until the Buyer has left theirs first. The buyer could turn out to be "the buyer from hell" and this is another reason why i will not leave feedback as soon as a sale is made.

So you prefer not to receive hundreds of positive comments (even if automatic) than not receiving them?

It is unfair, because when we receive negative votes, our rating (%) as a seller is soon very low, because we cannot balance with the positive, because simply over 60/70% of buyers do not vote !!

Problem is some buyers will rather leave no feedback than a negative.
So if seller receives positive because buyer didn't leave any, they may tend to leave neutral/negative.
I think voluntary feedback is best system.

I'm a seller for more of 10 years, really i don't agree. in my case mostly of them don't send feedback because are sellers competitors or forget send.
Maybe some for your reason, but i think not much.

For sellers, the automatic feedback option is the best option. because the buyer have some days to send the feedback, he receive alerts from ebay to vote, and when he doesn't do is because they have no intention to vote, regardless of the reason they have.

Buyer/seller have 60 days to leave feedback, ebay do remind them.
Even if you don't like feedback system, you have to respect it is voluntary.

you have more than enough feedback, you really don't need to worry about receiving more

feedback is VOLUNTARY

if ebay introduced automatic feedback in the way you describe you would end up with buyers leaving neutrals, where before they would have not bothered to leave any when they weren't that impressed but not so much as to leave negative

no feedback is as good as positive fedback, as they can't mark down your stars if they haven't left feedback!

I am mainly a seller and to be honest it does not bother me at all my buyers not leaving me feedback.

IF a Buyer has a problem no doubt they would contact me immediately.

Personally my own opinion on the matter is that eBay should just get shot of the feedback system in its entirety. The reason I say this is because it is very heavily biased in favour of the buyer - buyers can leave sellers positive, neutral or negative feedback, whereas a seller is automatically banned from leaving a neutral or negative feedback comment for a buyer, even if it is a completely truthful reflection as to how the seller felt that the transaction went from his/her perspective. Therefore, the seller only has two options - either leave the buyer positive feedback or shut up and keep quiet. When presented with this scenario it's not surprising to see why many sellers choose not to leave feedback for buyers.

In addition to the above I also believe that some users tend to get too hung up on increasing their feedback scores, in some cases bordering on it having developed into an obsession. It would also appear that some buyers have actually lost sight of the fact that the main objective is to ensure that they get the item that they wanted for a decent price without having any reason to have to open an eBay or PayPal case in relation to the transaction. The end result is that these type of buyers often become very obsessed with sellers leaving them positive feedback so as to increase their feedback score, and can often become extremely cross in the event that the seller does not leave them feedback relating to the transaction.

At the end of the day feedback is just a number with a percentage score next to it reflecting the percentage of positive feedback recieved by that person, and if you take into consideration the fact that buyers who have never sold anything on eBay can only have a 100% positive feedback score this is actually misleading in relation to whether or not that individual is a trustworthy buyer who is a pleasure to do business with, or is actually the type of buyer that sellers really ought to add to their Blocked Bidders List. Therefore, my own opinion is that eBay should scrap the feedback system in its entirety, and the sooner they get shot of it for good the better.

i agree with m25jet, the feedback system is a waste of time. i stopped leaving feedback a few months ago for anything i buy, because too many justified negs are getting removed, so i decided to not leave any, full stop.
