private offer?

Hi,

I have received an ebay message from a buyer wanting to offer a much lower price than the starting bid on one of my listings. Am I right in assuming he should be using the 'make an offer' option. I am unlikely to sell at the price he has asked but I'm just wanting to make sure of how I word my reponse.

This would be an off ebay deal, which can get you both suspended.

Politely reply that you are happy to respond to any offer through the listing.

If you think he may be a problem buyer, add his ID to BBL so he can't bid or make offer.

As you don't have Best offer on all your listings then the member cannot use Best Offer.

Jist say that as you do not have Best Offer (I assume that this applies) on your listing it means you are not open to offers.

If you do have Best offer on this item, then tell him to make an offer in the proper way, then decline or make a Counter Offer.

Thank you, I thought this too! I have responded and advised him to use the listing for bidding or offers only. I shall bare in mind what you said about a problem buyer.

Thank you, I do in fact have the make an offer option but he didn't bother to use it. I have responded asking him to do so. But I think it won't be 'cheap' enough for him given his cheeky offer!!

i`m going to take a stab it`s the whisky tumblers, but even if it is`nt, i`m always tempted to reply back that if i have something listed for say £40, why in hell would i take £20 and i always think these buyers know they are worth what their up for, but think people are desperate to sell stuff and try it on, very often dealers as well 🙂

Stick to your prices, the time to consider reducing them, is when they don`t sell after a couple of listing run`s.

Ooohhh! Well sleuthed! 🧐 Yep! That's about right on all accounts! Apparently he used up his 3 lives because he aimed too low! Hey ho! Thanx for your advice. 🙂
