Question Re: £1 selling fees in Selling on eBay DND

There are several different offers, they are supposed to be random and there is no way of knowing why you do or do not get offers.

My offer this weekend is 2% selling fees, a friend has 50% off the standard 10% selling fee, so unpredictable. It may have something to do with sales or listings in recent weeks.

I don't know. All I can say is that sellers' IDs are chosen at random.

But as you're both in the same household, does it matter...? Can you not list your items on her account...?

@1947postie

I don't think there's any real way of anybody being able to find out the correct answer and also being able to prove without a doubt that they've found out the correct reason as to why some people get the £1.00 selling fees offer whereas other people rarely do, but out of all the times that I've been offered the £1.00 selling fees offer in the past I've tended to find that eBay only ever make the offer if I haven't listed anything for absolutely ages. Does that scenario apply to your wife? If you've listed items more recently and your wife hasn't listed for a while then that could be the reason why she's getting more £1.00 selling fee offers than you are - ie: because she's not listed anything for sale for a while and eBay want to tempt her back to actively selling items on the site.

In that case it may be possible that eBay are offering the £1.00 selling fees to your wife as a form of reward for listing so frequently. Having said that, eBay's decisions as to whom to make the offer available to does seem to appear to suggest that they just select sellers at random to make the offer available to, so if that is indeed the case then perhaps your wife has just been luckier than you with regards to the matter of receiving these kind of offers.
