Question Re: help, how to offer partial refund? in Selling on eBay DND

If the buyer has changed his mind and seems hellbent on obtaining a full refund then it would be better to issue the buyer with a returns label and ask him to return the item back to you, stating that you will issue a full refund upon receipt of the item. Once you have the item back again refund the buyer's money in full via eBay. You can then either relist the item again, making sure that you mention the damage to the item so as to make any other potential buyers aware of this before they commit to buying the item, or alternatively if you get the item back again and the damage can be repaired without spending so much money on the repairs that you wouldn't be able to make a profit from the sale when you relisted the item the second time then source the necessary parts needed to repair the item and relist it for sale again. If you do decide to do this then make sure that you mention that the item has recently had new parts fitted in order to repair it and make it fully usable again. That way any potential buyer can make an informed decision as to whether or not the item is suitable for them, and whether they would be happy to buy a damaged-repaired item.

help, how to offer partial refund?

I sold something that was damaged during delivery. The buyer has agreed to a partial refund, enough to buy the replacement part. I found a way to do that, I offered it and nothing happened. Now I can't find that page again. I can't find anything, not even my offer. Buyer has now opened up a case with ebay for a full refund, but ebay aren't talking to me. Can someone help please.

Is there an option on case to offer part refund?

If not you will have to go to paypal transaction & click refund, put in amount of refund or it will refund in full.

You will then have to ask buyer to close case.

Ebay only refund fees when full refund is done, paypal never refund fees.

I am afaraid that once a case is opened you can only make a full refund. There is no way to do a partial refund.

I don't know where you were lookin before the case was opened, the refund link was where you would expect it to be on the paypal payment.
