Anyone else experiencing infuriating behaviour by e bay.co.uk ending auction listings early?

Recently this has happened couple of times to me. We ALL know in an auction bidders will invariably dive in during last minute or so of an auction so the note time listing is ending and go online accordingly. In my instances e bay co.uk only ended the listing 12 minutes early but that is enough to basically ruin the sale for me. Worse still potential bidders may think I have ended the listing early so deem me a bad e bayer. Needless to say e bay deny ending listings early!

Yes I can. Listed an item for 7 day auction a week ago yesterday with a starting price. The listing stated as they always do time listing would end, In this case 1814.14 BST hrs precisely. Note even seconds are included. I logged on to e bay like sellers do at 1805 BST yesterday to watch the invariable last minute bidding only to find listing had ended at 1803 BST. Got the usual e mail from e bay saying "not sold" and advising relisting etc. What do you make of that? Do you want to know the item number?

I don't look at my watch when I do a listing so odd minutes then don't matter. What I definitely do though is note the time the listing is due to end when it is up and running which is stated clearly and I am certain is what potential bidders note when viewing the listing. In this case listing was showing as ending at 1814.14 BST and continued to show right up to the dying minutes. Note the seconds even are stated. I have many times made a note of precise listing ending time so I can return in last dying minutes of it to bid. Many buyers do this as we all know. In case of this listing any potential bidder planning to do this would have been denied the opportunity due to the listing being ended like you say at 1803.25 BST, 11 minutes early. I did not end the listing - why should I? Did I miss out on getting a last minute bid for the item. I'll never know. Why would e bay end the listing early? Some IT glitch?

I think you must have a problem with the time on your device,

the listing ran it's full time, there is nothing on that listing that shows 1814.14 where did you see it?

what end time is showing on the new listing for the item?

Here is what shows on a current listing when it is opened up immediately underneath description of the item.

Condition:Good
“Used”
Time left:Time left:1 day (06 May, 2020 20:42:54 BST)

In addition to time left it categorically states time listing ends. In this case 2042. That means it ends at that time not 11 minutes earlier surely? In my recent experience the time showing here was 1814 yet e bay ended the listing at 1803 like I have stated.
Time showing for ending of listing of the offending now relisted item is 10 May 1810.23. BST.1810 means 1810 not 1759.

I think you must have been mistaken about the time, as the start and finish time cannot be changed, and the listing you are complaining about the start and finish time match, the listing didn't finish early

the time showing on the relist is showing as 10 May, 2020 18:10:25 BST not 18:10:23 as you have stated

You think wrong. E bay have sort of admitted it and said it would be investigated. Needless to say I'm still waiting to hear the outcome. I think they will do nothing and just hope I'll forget about it.

Please den't say it can't happen. You were not there. I, like a bidder, logged on to e bay to hopefully watch the bidding fun at end of the auction. Got there five minutes before the specified end time to find the listing had ended. That is straight up, no bull**bleep**!!

You're right though that e bay won't help sort it out although in one "chat" with them they did not, repeat not, unlike you, say it could not happen.
