I have a few questions about a return I am currently involved in.

I bought an item but the seller mixed up the orders and sent me the wrong item and my item to another buyer.

I open a item not as decribed case and the item is being returned to the seller using an ebay returns label.

The seller has contacted me to say thay they are receiving my item back as well and would I like the item I ordered- I have said yes and the seller has agreed to send it to me.

My question is can I leave the return request open until my item arrives and then cancel the return when it does??

How long can a return case be left open once the tracking shows the item has been returned to the seller,?

Yes, leave the case open until you get the replacement. If it doesn't come you must escalate the case within 30 days of starting it to get a refund.

You should have plenty of time, but bare in mind you have to return the item by a given date, so keep an eye on that in case the seller thinks like you, and doesn`t send the item you should have got, till he gets this one back.
