placed order for an item but never showed up , seller says I had not ordered

ordered item on ebay but never turned up although got email confirming order then next day another email saying being posted, contacted seller after a week and they said i had not ordered and checked on MY EBAY no sign of order but have been charged on bank account, emailed seller with order number from email but has failed to reply ...Ebay lines of contact seem to be designed to frustrate till you give up

Are you sure that you have checked your purchase history in "My eBay" thoroughly?

If you bought it through eBay, it will be there. There's no point in asking eBay for help on an item that wasn't bought here.

What are the emails you referred to? If it's a confirmation email from eBay, it will include an eBay item number.

How did you pay for it? If by PayPal, have you checked your transactions record in your PayPal account? If you paid by PayPal you can use PayPal's buyer protection policy to claim a refund, regardless of whether you bought it through eBay.

paid by debit card , sent the item number and order number to seller but no reply

If you say money taken from bank and you cannot see any purchase in your ebay purchases, why do you not say what it shows in your paypal account?

We can't see your Purchases, Bank Account or Paypal account, we have to rely on you giving accurate information.

Unless you can confirm that you bought through Ebay and paid using Paypal we are having to work in the dark and guess what you have done.

You say ebay lines of contact are frustrating, it is equally frustrating having to guess, when you have all the information.
