Been after one of these for a while and whilst this one is currently approaching £500 I've worked out that it would cost more than this to collect individual stickers. Not to mention a whole lot more hassle! The England badge alone has been selling for between £150 and £170 recently! What does everybody else think? Do you think its worth getting and if so how much do you think it's actually worth/will go for? Anybody else tempted?

Do you think the investment would be worth it in the long term?

Hi,

It will most definitely be worth the investment in the long term as Europa 80 is the first European Championship collection published by Panini and is therefore quite iconic and also reasonably rare.

I collected the stickers individually a few years ago and it did cost me quite a bit of money, but the badges alone have soared in value since then.

I still think that if you are patient and shop around a bit then you could get the full set for less than £500; a number of badges have being offered as buy it now for £10-15 quite recently.

There was a set sold recently (January) which sold for about £510 -

TBH at the time i thought it would go a lot higher than that due to the prices the badges were going for (England £150+). There would be a real temptation for whoever bought it to split it up for a tidy profit (against my principles lol). Long-term i agree with Ian that if you manage to get a hold of one of these and keep it for a few years your return should be pretty good.

You might be right its at £535 already with 2 hours still to go! Might be a little too rich for me, I was hoping to pay no more than £530.

Its a game of stick or twist aint it? Its a hard decision when something goes over your estimate/top price. Do you or dont you. Good luck if you put another bid in 🙂

No it's gone over my top price. I went up to £540 but I'm not paying any more. Like you said a full set went for £510 not long ago. I'll just wait for the next one.
