I'll kick off -

I'm trying to confirm if there was ever a Panini Football 89 starter pack, (Album bundled together free with a comic or magazine).

I've come to the conclusion that the 89 starter pack does not exsist, but would be very happy if anyone could prove this wrong.

Also whilst I'm on the subect of Football 89, does anyone know how the hard backed folder was originally sold or distributed, or if there was ever a starter pack produced with the album and folder inside.

Any information would be very much appreciated.

Hi mate, I just keep the albums in those sealable plastic sleeves, think the size is 10x14. Then they go in decent sized plastic boxes with lids. Sure that will be good enough to keep em pristine. I noticed a lot of you guys seem to be collecting loose sticker sets whereas I just collect completed albums. Is that cos you think they will be a better investment for the future ?

Might sound daft but I'm after a mint condition World Cup 2010 album. I've bought between 5-10 over the last month and the have all arrived creased or with bent corners despite being discribed as Mint.

Anyone help me out?

Hi Stuart i have seen those sleeves selling on Ebay and have thought about buying them. I currently store mine by carefully wrapping them in cling film and then put them in padded envelopes. Hopefully they will keep in perfect condition for the future.

TBH i collect both Albums (completed and empty) and loose sets. Originally i focused on just 100% completed albums and filling those near complete. I got into collecting loose sets after Darren (daza435) who is a regular on here pointed me in the direction of proper sleeves and albums to store them in. Value-wise i think loose sets will soar in value in the future and good condition albums with no writing in them will also be well-saught after in the future. If you are thinking of going for loose sets i would definetely recommend them as an investment.

Here's a rough list of my 100% albums i have:

South Africa 2010 - 6

Europa 80 - 1

Euro 76/77 - 1

Euro 96 - 1

Euro 2008 - 2

Germany 2006 - 5

Korea/Japan - 4

Espana 82 - 2

Euro 88 - 1

I have quite a few empty albums too - Mexico 86 ect which i think will be worth keeping and valuable in the future. I have 14 complete sets from various albums and roughly 12 near complete sets which can be both fun and frustrating trying to complete but also cool when its finished. Whether you collect albums or sets i think we will all be onto a winner in 10 - 20 years time!

Been meaning to write something for a while since joining.

Basically, I saw the Women's World Cup album last year and thought I'd collect it for a bit of fun. Then I found my old unfinished albums stashed away and thought, hmmm, I'll see if I can complete them. Well, you know the rest, now I'm hooked collecting again!!

Been a bit of a shock knocking about the web and seeing what is available and what the prices are! Some of the prices for albums that are only a few years old are crazy, and as for the 70s/early 80s its just makes your eyes water??!!
