Hi

Wandered if anyone could help me id this jug please. Its 8 1/2" tall. The red and green is painted on over glaze as is the lustre on the darker blue branches as this is wearing off. I thought it was ironstone at first as it has that look but is surprisingly light weight 489g. it has that tin glaze sheen about it and the only mark I can see on the base looks like a crescent (or is that wishful thinking!) Was going to list it this afternoon at a 29.99 start but would like to know a bit more about it first.

Any help iding it or other info would be gratefully appreciated thanks Kathryn

It's a nice Gaudy Welsh jug; I don't have time just now to look for the pattern, but it isn't a common one. The mark is probably just a decorators mark and not any help in identifying the maker, which probably isn't very important anyway, as collectors are looking for the patterns and shapes.
