Buttons not working

It seems I’m not the only person having issues with eBay right now, let me say what my issues are

The buttons for buy it now, add to basket and make an offer are not responding, when I click on an item to see more images, only the first image loads up, the rest don’t.

I’m using eBay on the safari browser on my iPhone (as I can’t use the app due to my phone being an older model)

I’ve tried refreshing the page, clearing the safari cache and nothing.

This is beyond ridiculous.
As far as I’m aware this has never been a thing before and if I was in charge of eBay, I would be very embattled as this situation. How am I supposed to buy anything when half the website doesn’t work?

I really hope this gets fixed very very soon, I know I’m not the only person who’s at their wits end with this

What operating system are you using?

Sounds like the version of Safari that lots of folks have with iOS 15.8.8 no longer works with eBay. Possibly other browsers as well.

If that is what you are encountering, I would suggest reporting the issue to eBay directly using one of the "Tell us what you think" browser links from one of the affected My eBay pages, then trying other browsers to see if one works better and posting the detailed results here of which specific browser versions have been tried.

Hey, I’m using IOS 15.8.7 (not yet updated my phone to 15.8.8)

Given what you’ve said, I’m gonna also guess that a lot of other people with the same issues are on the same IOS as me. Why eBay would make their site no longer compatible with safari on older IOS is beyond me, I don’t have the money to buy a more modern IPhone, was bad enough when EBay did this with the app,

I did try my Google app and it did the same thing there too.

will take your suggestion and report it to eBay directly at some point soon.

Not sure what on earth EBay are thinking, they’ve been making a lot of very poor and very questionable decisions lately.
It’s rapidly getting to the point where using EBay is more stressful than satisfying

The buy it now button, add to basket , watch item have also not been working for us either. It has been 6 days now, what is happening?

As it has been mentioned older versions of operating systems can become incompatible with eBay due to technology advances. However due to numerous reports we are having tech investigate this further. I can see you have provided your ios version. Can you also share what version iphone you have so I can add this to the report for tech.

Hi, I’m using an IPhone 7 Plus, that being said I don’t understand how older operating systems becoming incompatible with Ebay has anything to do with using Ebay on the safari browser, the app no longer being compatible I can understand due to security stuff. But Safari is a browser and from what I’ve looked up online, Safari is exactly the same on more modern IPhone models too so I can’t see any good reason for Ebay to not work on older devices via the browser.

Thanks Kat, I appreciate you taking the time to look into this matter, it’s very confusing and also frustrating as I enjoy buying things on eBay and want to continue doing so. Hopefully the tech department can sort this issue out soon 🙂

Hi,

I am also having button problems.

Buyers are asking me questions about the items I am selling.

I write a reply but cannot send it as the send button is not working.

Any help would be appreciated as I feel I am losing out in trying to sell my stuff.

I'm glad I'm not the only one!

It didn't work on IOS 15.8.7, so its not the update.

First the App and now Safari.

It can't be rocket science, some tech has obviously disabled it.

Can you please get it sorted as I'm going on holiday on Friday, and I need to buy some things whilst I,m away. Thanks Chris.
