Woodcarving chisel set taken out by eBay but the same set for sale by many other sellers

A set of woodcarving chisel set was listed for BIN. But eBay emailed me it violates the policy, and taken it out.

But the same chisel sets are for sale on eBay by other sellers. I see many of them for sale.

Why is this happening?

They may be for sale by businesses who have the correct registration / credit card details registered, to sell that item. Or, from overseas sellers, where laws can be different.

Or, they have simply slipped the net, with 7 billion listings on at any one time some invariably some will be missed and eBay do rely on members to report listings too, there's a report button on every listing, easily missed it's the ? mark bottom right!

Yours was spotted and reported, unless the message you received, what is need to relist the item you cannot sell this item on eBay on your account.

In that case, could it be reported by some other sellers who were listing the same item for getting rid of the competition? If that is the case, then it is not fair or right.

We have registered everything correct, and have been with eBay for 20+ years.

eBay had done this exact same thing last year, and the item was on limbo for months without being able to end, when appealed, because they have not done anything, but keep taking out the listing fees for the suspended item.

This time, we just ended the item without appealing. But feel very confused with what has happened.

The item had been bought from eBay originally, and many other sellers are listing and selling exactly the same set, but they don't get taken out.

As I explained above some items slip the net, but once they're spotted and reported like yours was , if they break a selling reg, they too will be removed.

Yes, you can report any listing you see is breaking a selling policy from the ? mark on every listing, right down the bottom of the listing page, on the right hand side.

If the same items are for sale by other sellers, but our item is taken out for the policy violation, then the system is not doing the job for making decisions and taking the item off, unless they are doing it for some other reasons.

Surely, the system should be checking out whether the decision for taking the items off are reasonable and right before doing so. If not, and they are keep making mistakes or doing it randomly allowing the slippages then is it a working system?

Should the unfair cases like these not be forwarded or reported to the the higher manager or CEO for possible correction for the slippages?

From hearing others trying to appeal an item which has been removed, the appeal fails, you could try, might be worth a shot.

Did the message telling you the item has been removed did not explain what you needed to do to relist the item?

However, it's an automated chat assistant if using a desktop browser, but I understand you can get hold of a live agent when using the app or mobile browser. Try at 8 a.m. on a weekday as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

Their email was about telling that they decided to remove the listing due to pv. There was an option to Appeal or End the listing.

I just ended the listing, because from last year's experience, when the same case with the different item was taken out, the listing was on suspension for months and months not even being dealt with even after many attempt to explain the same thing - many other sellers are listing the same item without being pulled off, but why was this item targeted?

So, this is the exact the same case happening again after about 1 year.

It's so infuriating, I'm with you on this, when no reasonable reason is given forwhy an item is removed, and more so, if not explaining if there is anything to change, to be able to relist it.

As it stands it's been unfortunately flagged up, so please as I'm sure you know, not to relist it on eBay. 😐
