Doubt your limits will be increased because you are on a Private account which is one for selling your used unwanted items, for example, a wardrobe, attic, garage clear out.

Selling all new items some in quantities too, you need a Business account, then I'm sure you'll receive the correct amount of listings.

It's easy to switch your current one to a Business one this way:

Go to Account settings in My eBay.

Select Personal information.

Select Edit next to Account type. You may be asked to sign in again.

Select Confirm to upgrade to a Business account.

Specify whether you operate your business as a legal entity or as a sole proprietor and select Continue.

On the following page, enter your business information such as name, contact information, and returns policy. Then select Save.

Probably best to use a PC / laptop for this, and not the app or mobile browser. Chrome seems to work best on eBay.

Hi everyone, I am a new seller on eBay UK. I started selling on 5th May 2026. eBay gave me a limit of 35 items per month. I have listed 32 items and have several orders currently in transit. When I try to request a limit increase, the system says I am not eligible. Has anyone faced this situation? How did you increase your limit as a new private seller? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your advice. I contacted eBay support today and spoke to agent Aastha. She confirmed that upgrading to a Business account will not automatically increase selling limits or bypass the waiting period. eBay bases limits strictly on account performance and selling history, regardless of account type. She also confirmed that for new sellers, first increase is after 45 days, then every 30 days after that. Sharing this for everyone's information.

Upgrading to business seller is not a choice.

You are buying to sell, so legally you must register as a business.

Just a heads up - you cannot sell an unbranded lookalike product with Scholl in the title unless the product is actually Scholl brand, you could end up like many of the sellers we've been helping who have received legal money demands from brand lawyers.

Thank you so much for this warning. I will immediately check and edit my listings to remove any brand names that don't belong to my products.
