Nearly £400 for a useless PS5!

The category you listed it in is one for works as intended, which yours clearly doesn't. You need to accept the return and issue a return label if you want it back. You will be refunding regardless.

I sold a playstation 5 console on eBay. Clearly stating the console is banned from Sony services and a picture of the error messagem my listing states no refunds due to the nature of the item. It is faulty as it's banned from Sony services.

So the customer has received it and now opened a case saying it's defective. I already told them it's defective and confirmed through message it's defective and they were ok

Now they opened a case saying it's only good for spares and it's defective .

What can I do. Ebay only give option for partial refund and return

It's best to negotiate a partial refund or agree to refund after item has been returned. If you refuse and the buyer escalates it to ebay they may enforce the refund but without return.

Why should I do that though. It clearly states the fault with item in listing. Clear picture of the error code on the listing. Also messaged the buyer beforehand and told them if they definitely want it it's a banned unit. They were okay with it. And now opened a return saying its banned . It doesn't make sense. eBay should side with me as I'm not even in the wrong?
