Problems adding bank account information to receive payouts

I am trying to enter my bank account information on Ebay. My bank is not in the list, despite being a large UK bank, so I have entered the details manually. However, it says the account is ineligible to receive payments. The problem appears to be a mismatch of names - I will explain not using my own name and information for security reasons. So name on eBay account:

Felicity Smith

Bank account: Miss Felicity Z. Smith

There is no option to edit the information in Ebay to give the correct bank account information. Been using eBay since 2008 and never had any issues with this.

Bank accounts are never going to match exactly as the format a bank uses may vary. Any suggestions for resolving this please?

Which bank is it?

I would also try on the bank account name taking in your example the Miss and Z out. so the names match, the sort code and account number should see funds landing correctly. Our payment details the name we have on file (which is our full name) does not match the name on our bank card if that makes sense. (our card has say mr T Trezures as opposed to Tommystrezures)

Hello. Thanks for the reply. I managed to contact eBay and they apparently do not need the bank account information, just card information, so that has now been added successfully. However, I am now unable to delete the bank account information!

Are you sure they understood the problem? They only pay out into a bank account, not via a card.

The UK banking Address details you are trying to add needs to have a main/head office UK High Street based location ( not Internet Banking ) --- suggest a reset to update your account settings using a PC/Laptop and these links >

A card can't be used to receive payments on, only to pay seller fees.

Which bank is it that you're using?
