Not unusual.

Never pay any money until you have seen vehicle in person.

There is NO ebay MBG for cars.

Yes luckily I did not pay a deposit before seeing the vehicle, it turned out to be a scam as I’ve seen someone make a comment on another platform saying they have been scammed by the same advert and lost money . The annoying thing was I reported it to eBay whilst the advert was still live but eBay said they could not see a breach in the selling rules when looking at the advert and unfortunately the scammers know this and that’s why they use the eBay platform to scam lots of people. EBay went on to say they do not give any protection rights when it comes to vehicles

I am afraid the it is foolish buyers who part with deposits to a seller they do not know and a vehicle they have not seen. Even worse paying in full for a vehicle that does not exist.

Just like giving money to first person you see in the street, on a promise that he will deliver a car tomorrow.
