I ordered a card the other week and when a package arrived it had been opened and there was nothing inside. It was only a cheap card around 4 quid, I messaged the seller immediately to see if there was anything they could do on their side as i've not had this happen before. They said no so I opened a case here however I feel like as the tracking says it was delivered they'll side against me especially as the seller has since basically accused me of just saying i havent recievedthe card which i could understand if it was more expensive. Really just wondering if i have a chance of getting my money back is what I'm asking.

Open a return using "damaged in transit". If seller used ebay's simple delivery ebay will refund without you having to return anything.

What sort of case did you open?

You should have opened a not as described case. If you opened a not received case, this is the only time when you can open a second case, so open a Not as described case.

Seller should provide a reply paid label, but is unlikely to want an empty envelope, so should just refund. If no refund, then escslate the case to ebay who will deal with refund.
