You won't be 'hung out to dry'.

First of all, it is entirely possible that your item will arrive safely and your buyer will be happy.

If you use Evri regularly, package items well, and know that your items are generally delivered without any damage, then there probably won't be an issue anyway.

Secondly, if the item arrives damaged because of how it has been handled by Evri, and you sent using Ebay Simple Delivery, you and the buyer are covered.

Ebay would refund the buyer without needing the item to be returned, and you would keep the buyer's payment.

Sold an item and the buyer messaged me after I’d dispatched the item, saying that had they known it was Evri as the courier, they wouldn’t have purchased. Because they wanted Royal Mail.

I dispatched it 2 hours after the purchase was made.
They claim Evri parcels always arrive to them damaged. But they did not communicate this to me at all prior.

Then they asked if I can cancel the order after I’ve already dispatched the item.

I’m concerned the buyer is going to falsely report a problem with the item upon delivery just to force a return. Because the listing was no returns.

Where do I stand with this should the buyer try and claim there’s damage to the item when there isn’t.

If buyer opens damaged in transit case,

as you sent with simple delivery, ebay will refund buyer and you keep your money.

Sounds to me that the ebay system plays into the hands of buyers wanting a freebie.

Surely the buyer has to prove there is damage with photos though and in a reasonable amount of time? It seems backwards how there’s no protection for sellers on this.

The buyer has 30 days to open a case and, at the moment, doesn't have to prove anything.

What you need to hope is that they use 'damaged in transit' and not 'not as described'. The latter means you have to deal with the refund.

The thing is it’s not even that much money in question. It seems to be farcical how sellers are hung out to dry.
