I listed under ‘mechanical tools’ as about 12000 others on eBay have who are advertising pliers. In the end I phoned eBay 3 times and most agreed there wasn’t any blades to be seen but each said there was nothing they could do and I had to have age verification signed for postage, which is very expensive and cost far more than the items were worth. I have ended the listing now as there is no reasoning with algorithms or customer service, thank you for your reply

I have just had pliers and pincers taken off for violating knives policy. Can somebody explain how a pair of pliers is a bladed item?

No idea, no doubt ebay’s robots are programmed by humans, but AI would not know a pair of pliers from a knife.

Have you looked to see if any similar items are already listed, if so look to see what category is used, or try “ list similar “, as the “ bladed items” may be detected by the category used.
