Hi, I am pretty new to ebay selling as a business. I am trying to get to my first 100 items. I had a late dispatch penalty for an item I'm pretty sure I dispatched in my window. It was sent with DHL. Dhl missed there delivery window. and re-scanned the item while at their depot. Ebay is taking that scan date as my dispatch time?

I appealed this through the automated service stating I had evidence I dispatched and dropped my parcel at the dhl drop off point. Now it has penalised me for late delivery. I offered free postage on the item but bought the postage label through dhl and not ebay as you can't state what your sending with the ebay choose parcel service? And as it was a battery and I'm a registered business I want to try and do everything right but somehow the buyer selected 1pm royal mail. Even though you can't send a battery through the normal post. So isn't it abit unfair ebay gives you postage options that violate the postage t's and c's? Is this worth appealing or do you think its just a waist of time? Thanks for the advice.

You are correctly registered as a Business Seller so it is up to you to decide what services you offer. For example the battery, why give a buyer the option of selecting a service that should not be used?

Are you not able to mark as dispatched yourself, that avoids any question of Late Dispatch, late delivery is beyond your control, but I have always assumed that ebay would only pick this up from buyers marking in the DSRs, rather than from tracked delivery where there are so many possibilities for things to go wrong, ranging up to never even showing as delivered.
