Abusive message

I have received an abusive message from someone about an item that has not been sold yet ? As if he has had it ,and its faulty?
cant get any help from ebay , so do i reply to say he not bought it from me or is it a scam ?

If you haven't been in any transaction with this member, then don't reply, just block them from buying anything from you, they sound like trouble you don't need !

Oh and just to add, further down that page where you add their ID, is a little box to tick to stop any messages from said member, remember to tick that !

If they haven't been in a recent transaction with you it could be the prelude to a scam, although your items wouldn't normally attract scammers.

I wouldn't reply but put their ID on your blocked bidder list:

and then tick "Don't allow blocked buyers to contact me" at the bottom of Buyer Rules on here:

and submit.

Don't reply.

You will just get into a back and forth with someone you don't want to have anything to do with.

Add the person to your blocked bidders list - use the link below and follow instructions carefully - and they will be blocked from buying from you and messaging you.

You can report the message to Ebay - there should be a link to report on the message, three little dots at the top on the right.

Block a buyer

Here's how to add a member to your blocked buyer list:

Go to the Block bidders or buyers from your listings - opens in new window or tab page.
Enter the buyer's username in the text box (you can add up to 5,000 usernames).
Select Submit.

I have tried blocking him on the site but it wont accept the user name he has put .
I think I will just ignore it and hopefully he will go away !!

Adding that username is a skill!!

I too have to input an ID several times before it's accepted.

It needs a comma between the last ID, but it sometimes is taken when there is a space, there isn't a space keep trying! It will add it eventually, but also, use a laptop / PC here, and try Chrome, don't use the app or mobile browser for this.
