Item details: 252688570936 - 12V 1A 2A AC/DC UK Power Supply Adapter Safety Charger For LED Strip CCTV Camera. I bought this on 10/12/26. Then I got a message today 18/3/26 saying the adapter was unsafe & was being recalled. There's no option to contact the seller on their website, plus the time limit for returning goods is closed! Seems a bit of a con.

It's not a con, item's are often recalled when a fault is found at a later date, it's eBay's responsibility when a manufacturer contacts them about a recall for an item.

As you correctly state you are out of time to claim a refund from eBay. You can contact the manufacturer see what they say, I've heard some have been refunded on return of the item to the manufacturer, but of course no guarantee there.
