eBay removed an item I was selling claiming it was counterfeit but it’s not and I can’t get any explanation from them or how to point out they are wrong.

The item might have been removed at the brand owner's request.

Some brand owners only allow registered sellers to list their items on the site.

Ebay seem to use the same email wording for several reasons.

So, even if the item was authentic, it's best not to list it again.

It will be removed and you could jeapordise your ability to sell on the site.

Thanks for your reply on this - all useful info for the future. I've
been on ebay since 2001, but am selling a few more things these days as
we look to clear out the garage and loft.

For the moment though, the item in question was a a bundle of cassette
singles from the 1990's - clearing out old items from my loft that I
bought from HMV and Our Price as a teenager. I have sold other old tapes
and CDs like this without issue, so was a bit lost why this one was
deemed to be a violation .

I think most annoying is the impossibilty to get a specific explanation
of what the breach is in a situation like this. I ask to speak to a
person but its impossible to escape the automated doom loop of the
digitial assistant offering me a list of six possible problems (none of
which apply to me even vaguely) and nothing else...

Thanks

Adam (seshy1)

This tells you about VERO https://pages.ebay.co.uk/vero/

It is possible that HMV is registered for VERO. Getting any sense out of ebay is impossible, why they cannot have more than one letter advising reasons for removal, as this sort of question comes up at least once a week.

List of some of the companies registered for VERO
