I sold an Air wick auto freshener that I bought from new. Never opened.

The buyer has contacted me asking for a replacement as the batteries leaked and now will not spray.

The buyer sent photos showing the batteries had leaked.

I don't accept returns but is this considered a faulty item and do I have to issue a refund/replacement?

Sellers can only refuse "change of mind" returns. If it was damaged in transit and you used Simple Delivery ask the buyer to open a return using "item damaged in delivery" as the reason. Then eBay will issue the refund themselves and you keep the original payment. They will not be required to return the item.
