Don't bother with a reserve price it will cost you 4% of the reserve even if the item doesn't sell, best to start your listing at the minimum you want.

Not the question you have asked, but you should have a look at your current listing for a rug.

You say it's 'a used table and chairs' and you give the measurements as 8.8 x 2.3 metres, and then as 9 x 6 feet. Those are vastly different measurements.

Oh my, I do appreciate your input re the rug here.
I have only just restarted trying to list items, but feel a bit inadequate with the
Process.
I will redo this.
The reserve price: is it good to use this? Should it be what you really want for the item?

Reserves are a waste of money, there's a 4% charge of the reserve even if the item doesn't sell just start the auction at the lowest price you will accept.

To add to the advice given, be aware f the following optional listing upgrades. They all come with a non refundable listing fee which is payable sale or no sale, and charged the second the item goes live.

Reserves as you can see, being the most expensive. As explained just list your auction items for the lowest amount you are happy to receive, it cannot sell for less, so in effect you are ' setting a reserve', but this costs you nothing.

Add any of the following optional listing upgrades, these all come with a non refundable listing fee.

Reserves: 4% of the set reserve ( maximum £150 per item)

Subtitles: £2

Listing in 2 categories: 35p

Gallery Plus: £2.50 ( free for clothes and shoes)

Listings with duration 1 - 3 days 35p

As a tip, before clicking on the final List Item With Displayed Fees button, glance just above it, it should read £0.00 Listing Fee.

If there is a fee amount listed there, you have selected an upgrade, and if you wish, it gives you time to scroll up and remove the payable upgrade.

Most information is on the listing form, or links to information. Just read all the information given and as advised, before listing that the fees are shown as £0.00. No point paying fees when basically it should all be free.

It would also pay to read about Simple Delivery, it is far from Simple, and you are obliged to use it, except in a very few cases.

Oh My, I did not know that delivery would be an issue.
So, I guess it is advisable to use 'collect' for large items, but post smaller ones?

Depends what you class as ' large items'. Some can easily go with a courier / Parcelforce. If you're thinking of selling large furniture items for example, then yes, definitely collection only.
