Just open a not received case. Ebay is not going to investigate, that is what the money back guarantee is for.

In theory if lost ebay foots the bill not the seller, if so it is about time they sorted out Couriers especially Evri who have a terrible record.

Item in cyberspace?

Recently (22 Jan 2026) bought Ebay item with estimated delivery time 3/4 days.

Nothing seen for 10 days, Evri tracking reference stating awaiting package.

Contacted seller who insists package sent.

Evri tracking remains awaiting package.

The difficulty in trying to resolve problems through Evri's *bleep* automated help is too frustrating. Together with a previously lost (probably stolen) expensive item whilst in Evri's custody, I will be enquiring as to the despatch arrangements from future eBay sellers.

I appreciate that the courier business is very competitive and sellers obviously choose the cheapest, but from a buyers perspective being caught in the triangle of eBay, the seller and delivery company the responsabilty for missing items can result in being bounced about from all three.

My question is : can eBay investigate cases where seller and courier deny responsibility for missing items?

This matter is not simply compensation rather principle and reassurance that eBay transactions can be relied on.
