Very occasionally when the item was sold as not working -spares or repair.

Usually ebay just side with the buyer ,and if the seller refuses to accept return and refund then they let the buyer keep the item and force seller to refund anyway

Has anyone ever beaten a SNAD case - I am about to try?

ETA - I accepted the refund subject to the return of the item in good order - it was returned totally unuseable with no sign of damage to the packing and the buyer denying all knowledge?

ETA - what do I do now?

Be aware if you refuse return, ebay will still find in buyer's favour & make you refund without them returning item.

Better to accept return, you have to pay return costs, then you can TRY to appeal, but good luck.
