Why is it no longer possible to contact eBay by telephone?

it is still possible to phone ebay,

but they want you to read the help pages first,

as usually the answer is there and you don't actually have to phone them

click on 'help & contact' at the top of the page

type a question or choose one of the prefilled options

choose the help closest to your problem

read it,

if you still need to phone them scroll to the bottom of the page

the phone link is there

Help & Contact will give the options available. Very rarely is it necessary to contact ebay in any case as so much information is available in Help & Contact.

Yes, I've tried all that and it says at the bottom of the page that the telephone service is not available!
