I have managed to change my password on EBay but am at a loss as to how to get back my aol log ins? I also changed my connected password bit's n bob's

I have NOT had any spoofy **bleep**, just went to sign in and was told someone accessed my account! They have bid on an Item (then out bidded themselves! They were not clever enough to realize that when they got into my account they put their EBay contact phone number in as well as email that could be just toget in. I can't call flipp[in EBay as I have no credit and am too worried to do anything online in case this IDIOT manages to stealmy bank details too?

Contact your email service provider right away, your most important account is actually your email, because once somebody has access to that, it's a gateway to every other online account you own. Once your email account is secure you can move forward.

Then you need to contact eBay and let them know that your account was compromised.

Click on the Help & Contact tab, top left of this page, and type in 'I think someone has used my account'. On the next page, if you look bottom right, you'll see a Contact Us link. Click on it and an option to contact eBay by phone will appear.

If your PayPal account has been used, you need to contact PayPal too. Opt out of faster payments for eBay purchases and any other sites you use it for, it's much better to have to input a password to authorise a payment. If your eBay account is compromised, it can't then be used to make payments.

You also need to work out how your account was compromised in the first place. Are you using the same password for accounts? Presumably you have up to date security on all of the devices you use? You should be aware of how to stay online, and each site that you use (particularly financial ones) MUST have a password that is unique to that site. .

Most accounts are compromised because you've logged on on an unsecure wifi connection (perhaps when out and about), or left yourself logged in somewhere, or via a phishing email. An innocuous looking email pretending to be from PayPal or eBay arrives, it features a link which, when clicked on, leads to a spoof log in, where your password is captured. The golden rule is never to click on any link in an email, but to straight to the site in question to see if there really is an issue there.

@jodisdream

Nothing you can do through eBay about aol email addresses/acounts - You must have a serious home security issue if your email accounts are affected as nobody else could get that info from your eBay account...eBay do not have your email passwords etc....it is likely that your email was hacked first which gave them access to your eBay

• First thing.....change your passwords immediately making sure to choose log out all devices if the option is offered....end any listings you did not make (if selling)
•
• This link may help in securing your account - https://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/account/securing-account.html
•
• Removing the fast checkout option is a good idea as it means the fraudster has no access to your Paypal account......thus no money lost
•
• For added security you should probably activate the telephone link to your account where eBay verify any changes to your account before allowing them
•
• Check none of your contact details, addresses, email, Paypal etc have not been changed.....make sure your country of registration has not been changed either
•
•
• This is not an issue with eBay security (which is very tight)........it is an issue with your own security
•
• 99.9% of cases where an account is compromised it is due to one of these factors
•
• 1. A member clicks on a link in an official looking email purporting to be from eBay BUT wich is in fact nothing to do with eBay but is a PHISHING message - NEVER CLICK A LINK IN AN EBAY MESSAGE
•
• 2. A member logs into eBay using an unsecure public WiFi service.......these are often spoofed by crooks to look like genuine free WiFi services but once logged in every action you make is recorded - ONLY EVER USE TRUSTED SECURE WIFI
•
• 3. A member has malware on their device.....either a keylogger or Trojan Horse collecting & transmitting log in data to crooks - ENSURE YOUR DEVICE ANTI MALWARE & ANTIVIRUS ARE UP TO DATE & SCAN FREQUENTLY
•
• 4. The member uses an easy to guess PASSWORD or one not unique to eBay
•
•
•
• What you do now is go to this link https://ocsnext.ebay.co.uk/ocs/home
• Type in "someone is using my account" and follow the instructions
•
