A buyer won't return my item

I listed an item incorrectly ,it was not the company I thought it was.i issued a refund immediately and sent return postage but after a month a repeated requests I still haven't got my item back.what can I do

there is nothing you can do,

you are not supposed to issue the refund until after the item is returned.

there is no way of forcing the buyer to return the item.

There is really nothing you can do. The buyer has no incentive to return the item if they have already been refunded.

You should have told them to open a 'not as described' case, issued a prepaid postage label for the return and refunded through the case when you received the item.

As you say you have sent return postage there isn't even any point in issuing a prepaid label now.

I realise that now but I was bombarded with emails by eBay telling me to issue a refund so I did.not realising what should happen.i was naive to think that users on here are honest.i even offered to go and pick it up ,she reported me.ebay don't really care about sellers we aren't protected in any way.do you think taking her to the small claims court might work,thanks for your help.shorts

Sellers are protected if they follow the correct procedure.......eBay can do nothing if you do not

You could try small claims court but the refund without first getting a written assurance of return from the buyer could legally be deemed as gifting them the product

Thanks for your help,it would appear the buyer gets a free gift and eBay helps them to rip off honest sellers,I does leave a bad taste in my mouth though.thanks for all your help,cheers

In the left hand column is a list of links that take you through the various stages of handling a return request. You can just click on each one in turn for eBay's instructions.

Like so many sellers who have trusted in other members' honesty, you have learned that there some will exploit any opportunity to keep something for nothing.

Not sure how you think eBay have helped them ?? You refunded before return......the opposite of eBay policy
