A bit harsh and unnecessarily OTT, but thank you nonetheless.

Maybe this was a poor comparison, but there have been others......................plenty of others.

How photos taken on his Mum's plastic tablecloth could be considered better is debatable and to have one (mine) with its original grille etc all intact should be a big plus.

Ahhh, the fickleness of the ebay buyer. :>(

I have been trading for a year now selling Dinkies and have been perplexed and frustrated as to WHY a lot of mine do not fetch the prices other people achieve.

My son said perhaps I needed to build up my Feedback credits, which I have now to around 260, but despite 100% I am STILL falling short and simply do not understand it.

Take today as a case in point. I offered up for sale a COMPLETE ALL ORIGINAL Post War model for £19, which seemed a fair price after checking what other identical models had sold for, BUT NO it did not sell. YET on the same day another seller sold an identical one with a major part missing (the ENTIRE front end radiator/headlight arrangement) and they sell there's for £18. They have about 1000 feedbacks to my 260, but surely that can't make that much difference.

Doesn't make sense. Absolutely crazy as this is not a one off, it has happened time and time again. I am getting really fed up with it. I put all the work in with perfect photos, tick all the boxes, give full descriptions and seem to be wasting my time as in some instances sellers offer up only one photo or very poor photos and yet still get good prices.

INSANE.

his pictures and description were better than yours,

and the paintwork was better on his example, your car looked like someone had used it as a hammer!

the actual phto is better, it is clearer and easier on the eye,

what are you using to take the pictures?

what resolution are you using?

consider using a different colour background

I must admit their photos are sharper and clearer, but I it seems mine are restricted to the camera I have and which I cannot afford to upgrade. I have spent many an hour trying different settings but seem to be let down by the quality of the camera, which is a Fuji with all mods cons (then) which is not a bad make but certainly not one of the best.

I know this is going to sound weird because you might say in that case I should know better, but I have been in the photographic trade for many years and yes, I am not happy with the photos, but no amount of knowledge is going to improve my camera.

I don't agree with you about the background - it should be plain (one of the FEW things that eBay gets right in their advice) - as you should not use anything that distracts................such as a green/white polka-dot tablecloth!! But going on from that, I have seen many, many examples of absolutely rubbish photos** and yet people still bid.

It is an absolute mystery to me.

** Way out of focus, movement blur, upside down (!?!?!), so dark you cannot see what it is – unbelievable that people can post photos like that and not think “Hang on, that doesn’t look right”

the colour you have chosen doesn't work, it should be white or a stronger colour, the murky cream doesn't do your items justice

That "murky cream" is a white bed sheet.................time for a change of soap powder methinks.

"Ladies, are your neighbour's whites whiter than white? No! Then you need to use new Razz for that blue white dazzling white!"
