Arkwebus is right here, no fraud involved if the second seller lists these items for you to buy. You may if you wish contact the first seller say you were displeased at your username details being passed on but I would be of the opinion here to thank the first seller for going to the trouble to find you these other items.

I mean they have saved you time in looking for these other items.

Placed bid for 4 items from a seller, then received a message from "another seller" offering 2 items what the first seller did'nt have. The first seller through messages openly admitted they had passed my details to the second seller ????? I contacted E-BAY as I was,and not happy about this and tried to cancel my bid/offer,but now have a non payment case against me. As far as I'm concerned this is a case of "fraud" and corruption.........E-BAY are still allowing this seller to trade as E-BAY are only bothered about making money...........sooner it gets sorted the sooner i get finished with these clowns..............a well peed off e-bayer

Well it's certainly not "fraud". To me it seems more like a seller [misguidedly] trying to provide exceptionally good customer service!

If you have won something [from the first seller] then of course you have to pay! If you do not then you will get [possibly two] defects and - whatever you may think - many sellers will not sell to you.

There is no reason to think that the items will not arrive and provided that the second seller is dealing through eBay there is no particular objection although you do not have to do anything.

It "may" be that the sellers are related or associated

Hi,nice to get a couple of replies,,,,,,,,,,,according to E-bay the first seller has broken the rules by supplying my details to the second seller.Take note "NO" transaction had taken place as it was under bids on offers, the second seller appeared without warning..invading my e-bay site ??? who else have these details been given to ??...(this day and age ID is a threat anywhere) if it isn't fraud what is it ?? the first seller could have been "honest" enough to let me know they din't have the items, time saving that's a joke

Fair comment, we see this differently, I would see this as helping me out finding an item, and as they can only pass my username ID which is available to everyone on the site to contact me, I cannot see any breach of details.

However, like I said you should contact that seller, and report that you do not appreciate this action.

Thank you for your update. I am not sure what you mean by "no transaction has taken place" as clearly if you have a "non-payer" case against you - you have won something and are committed to pay. If that was on an offer then the seller has accepted the offer. Unless a sale has taken place then a seller cannot open a case.

It means exactly what it says "NO" transaction has taken place ...when the other seller stuck there nose in I contacted E-BAY and they told me both sellers were braking e-bay selling rules so I stopped the offer/bids ........e-bay informed me they would deal with it,,,,,,,,I had made an offer in good faith only to be taken for a ride.......I suggest you stop defending E-BAY rouges and keep out the sun..........places like that can affect the smallest of brains...........

It isn't fraud at all.

It sounds as though your seller may have thought they were doing you and the other seller a favour. It may be a breach of eBay's privacy policy but it certainly ins't grounds to refuse to complete the sale.

Just pay for the items you've bought, and let the second seller know that you don't wish to purchase the other items. Or maybe you do wish to buy them, now that you realise it isn't fraudulent.

If you refuse to pay you will receive an unpaid item strike for each item. I'm not sure whether eBay will only treat this a single strike, as they were all for the same seller. This is important, as if you receive two or more strikes most sellers will automatically block you from bidding.

I am still confused. If - as both @corred and I think - you made an offer to the first seller and it was accepted then at that point a contract exists and you have to pay.

If that were not the case then the seller could not open a non-payer case against you. Please do not feel that I - or any of the others - are hostile to you.

They have not sold you down the river.....you only pay & deal with seller no1....he sends the items he has to you & he then pays seller no2 to send the other two items....it is in effect the legitimate & allowable practice of drop shipping

It is absolutely no different to the seller sending you 2 & then paying Amazon to send you the other 2........it is a practise that a great many sellers do on eBay....you only ever deal with the first seller & any potential problems are still the responsibility of the first seller....all the second seller has is your address to post the goods to
