eBay don't offer an opinion about what makes a postage charge excessive. Clearly, if a seller charges £10 for P&P and the stamp price cost £2 they'll soon rack up some unhappy customers, which will impact their selling account.

FVF on the postge has been in place for over 4 years now. It was imposed to stop people 'postage gouging' by inflating the postage cost vs the item cost to avoid fees.

It's in all the seller fee pages:

"When your item sells you pay 10% of the final transaction value, including postage. We call this a final value fee."

Thanks vyolla, what i am after is understanding what ebay thinks an excessive postage charge is - in relation to the item value . . .

My eyes are opening to how ebay is making the huge profits it is. Add this to the pathetic levels of UK tax it is paying to the HMRC (6/100ths of 1 percent tax (£1.6M on $3.2Bn), and it is clear that the end of my relationship with ebay is nigh.

As a seller, effectively paying twice for postage - once to RM to actually deliver it and then again to ebay for the materials and privilege of doing the P&P as well as taking time out of my day to go to the PO to post an item, is the final unreasonable straw.

It's an easy decision and thanks again for your help vyolla

It is also worth noting that sellers offering free (incluisive) P&P have always been charged the fees
