For the past couple of days every time I do a search on eBay it switches to the site https://www.gamiss.com. I can use the back button to get back to eBay, then it reverts again. I've tried to block the page, but without success. Is this an eBay problem?

I have not clicked on the link as i do not know the site

I did see a few other reports of this yesterday I think it was on the ebay outage UK site

Did not see a solution

Try clearing cookies and cache by clicking on the Ctrl Shift and Delete keys on your computer

Restart your computer

If that does not help then try another browser like Firefox or Chrome

I may or may not work but this is a well tried method of solving some problems and worth a try

@abcr1977

The suspicion is that this is nothing to do with eBay but is in fact some kind of malicious code in an advert from one of the 3rd party advertisers on eBay.....as there have been no reports of this issue where people use browsers with adblockers built in.....

It may be worth downloading & running the Malwarebytes or Adaware programs

You would be better accessing the site then using a browser with an adblocker built in

Examples are

Firefox with the Adblock Plus add on

or

Opera with it's own inbuilt adblocker enabled but you can also increase the protection by adding adblock plus to that as well

Problem solved - I installed an Adblocker. I also tried to block the site through 'parental controls', but that had no effect on this particular problem. Several other users also had the same difficulty and I think eBay recognised there was a problem and may have helped fix it. Seemed ok later today anyway. Thanks for all the support guys!

Many people are complaining about this, and eBay's technical department is supposed to be looking into it.

In the meantime, run malware scans, check your cookies and find the Gamiss one and delete it, and then download Adblock.

Malware sorts this issue temporarily but the day after it came back.
Clearing cookies also works for a while then its back.
I guess we'll get a discount voucher to use once the issue is resolved 😉
