Eire would be worldwide - you can make a partial refund direct from the Paypal payment but be very careful not to refund the full amount. If they were paying in Euros then part of the difference would be attributable to exchange rates.

A customer overpaid on postage - I didn't have a postage cost as high as he had to pay and I owe him £3.75p. How do I do this via Paypal please.

The buyer cannot overpay postage. When a buyer goes through the checkout, they pay exactly what is shown on the listiing page.

If you got it wrong, that is rather a large amount to miscalculate, go to the payment in Paypal, click for full details, use the refund link. amend as required.

If you mean buyer bought more than one item, then do as I said above. Paypal will refund a small amount of their fee, ebay will refund nothing.

Incorrect, I put £3.40 for 1st class UK and £6.95 Worldwide, but Paypal/Ebay charged my customer £7.85p !! The buyer was Eire and the item cost only £4.10....so my question still stands please ?

Thanks, and nope , no miscalculation on my part - I even get items weighed and don't trust the Ebay Postal calculations. I was only sending an item to Eire, and it's only £6.95 to the US.....the buyer is very understanding, but I will refund him via the Paypal account......thanks

So your buyer is in Eire, Ireland.

Postage cost would be £6.95. I tested it on one of your listings, I changed my location from UK to Eire and I was quoted £6.95.

So why do you think you have to refund them £3.75?

If the buyer was 'charged' more ask them if they paid by credit card or from their bank account via Paypal, that may account for the additional 90p or conversion rate £s to euros.

Thank you norseway, good answer, and at least I am now an expert on sending items to Ireland - they are actually only a little more expensive than normal UK postage and the poor buyer paid even more than a Worldwide payment !! I have now refunded the buyer his overpaid postage...
