why the hell does ebay keep sending out emails that wont display properly in EMAIL CLIENTS

Ebay keeps sending out Emails that wont display properly if you use an email client like outlook or outlook express

often you just get a blank email or some of the pictures may not display....however if you use web mail the same email will display fine this is because ebay IT dept has tottaly forgotten that many users still use email clients to display email although they can display some html coded email they are not geared up to run scripts and the latest html stuff that they are using in their html based emails WHAT A COMPLETE waste of time to market people with blank emails someone in their IT dept needs a kick up the backside for causing the worst marketing ploy of the decade BLANK EMAILS ha ha the jokes on them for being such fools

many other firms are using the same IT email structure Pinterest,Tesco all sending out duff emails that wont work on email clients properly now thats a real step forward in marketing LOL

you can set your preferences to only receive emails in text format,

go to:-

my ebay >>> account tab >>> communication preferences >>> delivery options >>>Notification Delivery Format >>>Preferred Email Format >>> text only

Hi thanks for the information about setting to text only but my point is they always used to work ok with html settings its the way they now send them out thats changed i know clients cant handle scripts obviously modern programmers dont consider compatibility and its a bit pointless sendind me a .. YOU will enjoy these emails when i cant see the pic of what im supposed to enjoy setting to text only will not get me back to where i used to see the pics etc so they are actually wasting time trying to sell stuff many cant see in the emails im not alone as others i know have the same problem what a waste of resources sending what are effectivly blank emails out i did try and contact ebay the girl did not have a clue what i was on about in the end she assured me she would pass the info onto tech dept fat chance of that going any thurther There are articles on the web about the fact many companies dont have a clue how to send compatible email out many dont do a text only version so you get a blank screen technology moving faster than people can understand a bunch of headless chickens comes to mind..lol

Sounds like more of an issue with your email client........certainly if using Outlook Express which has not been supported for many years now.....having been replaced by the also now defunct Windows Live Mail.........

I use an email client & can always see the images.....I have the security set to always display images from eBay.......it could be your settings are set to not display images from eBay

Have found the latest vesion of thunderbird works ok and displays all pics etc so im changing over only problem ive found as when it automatically imported all my stuff from outlook and outlook express it duplicated everything
so now a big task of going through getting rid of all the duplicates nothings ever easy

Just as well you have done it though as an outdated email client is a security vulnerability for your device
