Seller refuses to cancel a transaction

My seller has refused to cancel an order l have placed in error, l have ordered something thats the wrong size.
I sent an offer and 5 minutes later,as soon as l had paid, l messaged the seller to apologise and ask for my order to be cancelled. The seller has refused saying they have already booked and paid for a courier, yet the listing stated it is sent by royal mail 2nd class. The seller says that that was a typing error....

The seller does not have to cancel it

No matter how soon you contacted them they may just send it as you paid

If they have returns accepted on their listing then you can return at your own expense once you receive the item

You open a returns request in the resolution centre at the bottom of the page

If they do not have returns accepted on their listing then you should sell on yourself

So even though they are then sending it by a different method to what l have paid for l still have no come back??

If the seller was not a UK registered business seller then THEY DO NOT HAVE TO CANCEL !!

There is no right of cancellation on eBay for private sellers or non UK registered business sellers

The seller was charged fees the second the listing ended

Failure to complete the purchase will probably result in an unpaid case being opened & an unpaid strike on your account

No you have no comeback

If you receive your item in time and it is as described then that is all that is required.

They may have just said that about already buying the postage but you will just have to wait and see.
Even with RM you can buy it straight away online.
They should send by the method on the listing and even thought they say they are sending by courier as long as you receive it then the deal is done.
You bought it and paid for it and the seller sends it

Erm l have paid....I have cancelled transactions a few times over the last 12 years as a seller and recieved a final fee credit, lve never made an issue about it like this seller has. Even if they dont have to cancel then surely they still have to post out by the method it states in the listing? Or am l doing it all wrong when l sell?

As you refer to different sizes I assume this is a business seller. If they're in the UK they are required by law to accept cancellations and returns.

If they've already dispatched it you will be entitled to a full refund including delivery cost if you return it, but the return postage will be at your own expense.

If the item isn't as described you can go to the resolution centre and open a case under eBay's money back guarantee: http://resolutioncentre.ebay.co.uk/

@corred UK business sellers also do not have to cancel, they have to accepts returns for change of mind but do not have to cancel.

No they arent a business seller the are a new seller though at 6. Ive purchased a double blow up bed thinking it was a single...

You should not be buying and cancelling purchases at all even if it is only a few times in 12 years

Bids and winning items are supposed to be binding

As already said as long as you receive your item then there is no ebay dispute for postage

If they do pay then you do not have to cancel
You have no returns on your items so could have sent them and not been forced to accept them back.

As a seller I also would have cancelled as it just saves hassle but it is the sellers choice.
