My ebay messages blocked tried to arrange potential buyer a viewing so ebay has blocked messages why would anybody make a purchase of over a thousand pound without viewing ebay is coming to an end for me !

This is to prevent potential 'off eBay' deals.

Contact details can only be exchanged once the item has been bought or won.

The buyer should bring cash with them so they can view the item before paying.

Consider Business registration where all contact details will be shown in your Seller profile without the need for messages ...

View before purchase has NEVER BEEN AN EBAY OPTION

Exchanging details prior to purchase has always been an offence

eBay are now clamping down on this

You are currently trading illegally as an unregistered business seller (which correct registratuion would bypass the problem)

• There is a simple rule on eBay

• Under no circumstances may one member supply another with ANY contact details before a transaction is completed
•
• All questions must go via eBay messaging
•
• Any attempt to give phone numbers, email addresses etc will initially result in a 7 day messaging restriction
•
• Subsequent transgressions will probably result in a ban
•
• There is a warning displayed on the messaging page advising you of this
•
• eBay clarified the situation on Sept 22 by eBay message to ALL eBay members !

• Here’s a summary of the main changes:
• We’ve added new terms to the User Agreement to clarify that users are not permitted to complete outside of eBay any sales transactions with each other arising from items listed on the eBay platform. Offers to buy and sell or communicate outside of eBay constitute policy violations and may be subject to a range of actions including limits on buying and selling privileges as well as the application of final value fees for such transactions, the application of fees for the introduction of a seller to a buyer and the recovery of expenses for policy monitoring and enforcement.
