Shill Bidding

I bid on an item with a starting bid of £10. I place my maximum bid in of £30.

So far no one else has bid, so I'm the highest bidder at £10.

Then someone is gradually placing bids until I am outbid. This is all being done by one bidder.

I am later on sent an email informing me that I am the highest bidder again as the persons bid which has outbid me has now been cancelled.

Though only the bids which outbid me are cancelled, rather than all of the bids this person has made, leaving my maximum bid as the current bid.

This smacks of shill bidding to me. What do you think?

Report them to ebay.

It does sound like shill bidding & it seems to occur too often.

You could also tell the Seller that you want to cancel, if they don't want to, asky why they let the other bidder cancel.

On the Advert there is Usually a Report button.
Click and Select from the options
Listing Practices
Fraudulent Listing Practices
Seller is using other accounts.....
