Did you speak to staff or use Live Chat. If Live Chat you get a copy of the conversation which you can use to back up any disagreement about what you were told.

When speaking I am sure that in many cases, you are told what you want to hear. With Live Chat it cannot happen.

Having just been notified by message from Ebay that I have to except a return of ring (where the buyer said he never even received it to start with, although proved by tracking). Then a week later says it was wrong product (it was exactly what was posted). Ebay told me I had won the case and that was the end of it. A few days later another message appears,so I begin a chat on line again(3rd time) They advise me I am absolutley right not to give refund and to not bother messaging buyer as he never responded to any messages from me.

Now after another long chat on line (going around in circles again) They say that I must even pay for return (can I just point out this buyers feed back has some terrible feedback.Items are **bleep**,bad comumicator etc). I feel seriously annoyed by this outcome, after following 3 diffrent peoples advise who actually work for Ebay as mediators. It is totally unproffesional to let people give you advise and then completley retrack that, with absolutley no explination whatsoever. That means the rule book stands for nothing. Its like they know your seriously annoyed, and just cut you off with, thanks for using Ebay, enjoy your day. That is totally wrong. Rant over.

THANKS ror Advice and yes this was all done on live chat,so I have a copy of Ebay telling me I was in the right all the time, and then changing decision, I dont know how to answer the people who have left messages, but I did post a full discrition with the ring,in a photo, telling you the weight of both gold, and diamonds. My problem is,is that I have done everything in good faith and the gentleman got the ring for much lest than half of what I paid for it on Ebay (none the less thats not my worry). It was the absolute way in which he has not done what Ebay has instructed him to do (communicate with me) never answered a single message. I would have gave him a refund, but no,not after lying he never had it delivered (proved by signature a week earlier he had signed for it) Then saying it was not what he ordered) the very same ring, size, weight, . what my point was, that at what point is there any protection from people returning a non returnable item, that has been discribled to a tee (even by him messageing me messages about it). I am not going to chase it up with Ebay as thats obviously pointless. But to be told you are perfectly in the right,as he wont communicate,he has recieved what he bid for. Makes no sense to be on top of that charged for its return. He was that keen to get his money back but he hasnt even sorted out delivering it back yet. Rant over and im feeling better already.

It would seem as though the buyer must have gone on to open a case for SNAD and in this case the buyer will inevitably be favoured by eBay.

As such you will be forced to accept a return and also to pay the return costs.

You will not be required to refund until you have the ring back ...no return = no refund ....

However when you get the ring back you will be able to relist it . The description you gave in the original listing was very scant . If you do relist giving a good description ( size , gemstone type , metal type etc ) then you might achieve more views and quite possibly a better price . The ring looks lovely .....hope you go on to achieve a higher price ....
