We are well aware of the consumer contract regulations (which replaced the distance selling regs some time back) , these, however, apply to UK business sellers, not private UK sellers or overseas sellers of either kind.

Ebay buyer protection is in addition to a buyer's legal rights, not a replacement for them

Neither are we responsible for what a seller may say on their listings

I have never looked at this forum before however I posted a question and decided to have a look at what other people have had to say on varying aspects of the buying experience.

Some of the replies are quite down to earth and the comments justified.

It seems that people like to dismiss the regulations that are in place tp protect people who buy on line

a good one to look at is the "distance selling regulations" it also amazes me that you see adverts from traders that state "No Returns"

this is also illegal.

I had an incident last week when I purchased a domain name on line (everything went fine) however the law govening their terms and conditions was some 5 years out of date.

Another was after the purchase details were emailed that said if you have paid "you accept my terms and conditions" this is also false

the terms and conditions must be upfront so that you can read and agree to them, purchase or no purchase.
