Oh dear

Hopefully he is intending to repay, just being a bit slow about it, you could try phoning again.

Cars are excluded from the ebay money back guarantee (see policy below), and are also excluded from paypals buyer protection.

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/money-back-guarantee.html

You can start a small claims online for the amount of the deposit. You could also notify the local trading standards as he is obviously a dealer. Citizens advice bureau online have the information. You can also report to action fraud.

http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report_fraud

If you use a credit card to fund paypal its worth asking the provider if they will help with a chargeback.

I'm clutching at straws but its well worth checking in your paypal account to see if the payment went through. If there is a cancelation option next to the payment obviously use it.

how the do you actually get to report something thats gone wrong ???

all i can get is the runaround of problem pages that are no help whatsoever

AAaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

i got shafted who sells items using classified ads, after ringing the number and negotiatng a deal

i paid a small deposit via paypal.3 days later i rang to pick up the item as we had arranged to be told he changed his mind and wasnt selling it now saying he would refund the deposit...

...guess what? hasnt. now i cant get anywhere with ebay as the item wasnt actually sold in the system, paypal no help either.

as it was a classified ad with no buy now it would never list sold in the system and therefore be open to abuse by asssoles like this

how the can i sort it please
