I cannot post back the broken bowl I received as they are too sharp and the post office wont allow it

If you use lots of bubblewrap it won't be a problem. If they want to know what's in the box just say a bowl. You will have to return it if you want a refund.

Have you opened a NOT AS DESCRIBED CASE. I am surprised that the buyer would want a broken item returned particularly as they would have to pay the return postage.

Surely having opened a case and sent a picture of the damage the seller should refund without needing a return so that they can throw in the bin.
