Watchers are just like window shoppers. They may or may not be interested in buying. It's naive to even suggest that they should let you know why they're watching!

Never build up any expectation because of the number of watchers.

I get a lot of watchers on items that don't convert to offers or bids. I guess some people just watch to see if an item sells. However, it can be irritating when you think that there is interest and hope/assume that an item will sell without intervention (like price decreases, etc).

It would be great to have an additional watch option where 1) you can opt to say that you are watching for interest with no intention to buy or 2) you are interested and may place a bid

Has anyone else seen a similar suggestion?

Hi

The watch counter means nothing and to be honest has been broken for months.

I never take much notice of it nowadays. It dont matter why people watch as its bids that count.
