What is the point?

Point?

I have dozens of CDs listed and the three specifics that I am asked to update - "so that buyers can find your itgems" - are title, artist and format... which I always list in the item title anyway!

I am wasting sodding hours doing this.

What is the chuffing point? 😡😡😡

the search engine uses the item specifics, not the item title

so when a buyer uses the filters to narrow down their search your items won't be shown if you haven't filled in the item specifics

No point at all, but the people who come up with these daft ideas NEVER SELL.

Does tend to imply That Item Title and Description are a waste of time.

I had the same with a book, they wanted the Title of the Book in Item Specifics. As with you it is in the Title and description. Trouble is if you ignore these requests ebay will remove the listings.

Got a response now from an expert: Apparently the search engine doesn't search the item title. What a great system they employ...

the title is used when bidders just browse a category, if they use the filters the search engine uses the item specifics, so, if you don't fill in the item specifics your items won't be shown when the filters are used, simple realy.
